Tell us a little about what you do at JAKK Media!
As a videographer for Sleepopolis, I work from start to finish with the video content we produce. I work alongside designers and videographers to shoot, edit, create motion graphics, and take photographs for all the videos and articles that you see on Sleepopolis.com.
What’s a favorite project so far?
My favorite projects have been our sponsored content because there is a lot of room for creativity and personality in those videos.
What is something you think will change about digital content in the next five years?
As digital content becomes easier to produce and publish, there are opportunities for a more diverse range of voices online. I think we’ll continue to see the growth of high-quality content produced by individuals and small groups rather than by large and well-known media companies
Are there any skills you want to learn or develop more at JAKK?
I came to JAKK to shoot and edit video content, but have recently started working on motion graphics too. I would love to continue to improve my animation and design skills.
All of JAKK’s sites feature collaborative teams. What’s something impactful you’ve learned from another person at JAKK Media?
Something impactful that I’ve learned from my work at JAKK is how to always consider the whole process of production with each task. For example, thinking about what shots will be useful for the editor, or considering how graphics will be used while I am shooting and editing a video. This isn’t something I’ve learned from one specific person, but from collaborating with everyone on both the creative and Sleepopolis teams here at JAKK.
Favorite spot to eat in NYC?
I have been searching for the best veggie dumplings in the city since I moved to New York. The current frontrunner is Shanghai Dumpling in Chinatown (but I am always open to recommendations!).
