Masha was born in Russia, raised in Brooklyn, NY and currently lives in Austin, TX with her boyfriend Alex and their two dogs.
From a very young age, Masha was drawn to art, specifically abstract art by Wassily Kandinsky and Henri Matisse. After, seeing how much Masha enjoyed painting and drawing, her parents decided to sign her up for art classes and she has been drawing ever since. In college, she took the time to explore other disciplines besides art, switching her major from Graphic Design to Business Law to Pharmaceutical Research, but ultimately returning to Graphic Design.
Despite spending 8 years discerning her career, Masha truly believes that design is what she excels at and is most passionate about. After a few years of working as a freelance graphic designer, her career lead her to work in the tattoo industry with a diverse and interesting group of people. She worked with one of the best tattoo artists in NYC (Lalo Tattoos), who contributed to her perception of what art and design is and how it impacts people.
After living in NYC for over 14 years, Masha moved to Austin and quickly joined the JAKK Media team. When she is not working on design projects, Masha enjoys exploring the great hiking spots around Austin, going to surfing classes, cooking, and spending time with her boyfriend and two pups. Leo and Basti.

Tell us a little about what you do at JAKK Media!
What’s a favorite project so far?
So far, I’ve been really enjoying illustrating the long-form articles for Mattress Clarity.
What is something you think will change about digital content in the next five years?
I think it will be more 3-dimensional considering that VR/AR is a fast-growing industry that will change the way we create and consume digital content.
Are there any skills you want to learn or develop more at JAKK?
I’m looking forward to learning motion graphics and animation.
All of JAKK’s sites feature collaborative teams. What’s something impactful you’ve learned from another person at JAKK Media?
English is my second language, and even though I’m fluent in it now I’ve never challenged myself to write creatively. Reading all the article by our editorial team at Mattress Clarity never fails to amaze me how powerful and creative writing can be when using the right words at the right time.
