Tell us a little about what you do at JAKK Media!
I’m a designer mostly working on branding and graphics for Sleepopolis and the JAKK Media brand.
What’s a favorite project so far?
Getting to rework the visual identity for Sleepopolis has been a really fun, interesting and continually challenging project. I loved the process of helping to redesign the website and having to focus on user experience design, which is something I hadn’t previously had a great deal of experience in but is an incredibly important exercise as a digital designer.
What is something you think will change about digital content in the next five years?
I’m curious to see how user-generated content will continue to impact the way brands grow and establish an audience. I think people will come to rely more and more on individual voices that create trusted bonds within their niche digital communities.
Are there any skills you want to learn or develop more at JAKK?
I’d love to learn more about content strategy and SEO analytics — as a designer, I think it’s really important to have a holistic understanding of what goes into creating digital content.
All of JAKK’s sites feature collaborative teams. What’s something impactful you’ve learned from another person at JAKK Media?
Hard to focus in on one thing or person! JAKK is very collaborative, and I have to say I’ve learned a lot from just about everyone here but as the overall creative team head, Josh has reminded me a lot about how important clear communication and a positive attitude are when working with a team.
Favorite spot to eat in NYC/Austin?
The Odeon in Tribeca. Classic!
